Posts with Sleeves

All of our round steel fence posts are 17-gauge 1-5/8-inch diameter posts that are galvanized and given a black powder coat finish. The ones on this page come with 2.5-foot drive sleeves that can be inserted into the ground with a drive cap and a hammer; and then, once the sleeve has been installed, the post can be inserted into it.  The posts and sleeves listed below are suitable for use with 4, 5, and 6-foot fences.

To install the sleeve of one of these steel fence posts, set a drive cap onto the top of the sleeve and strike it with a heavy hammer until the top of the sleeve is just above the soil line. Then insert the post, the top of which will be the right height for your fence. Like their cousins without drive sleeves, these posts work well with polypropylene, metal hexagrid, or welded wire fencing to produce a handsome fence. Space 8 to 12 feet apart.
