Metal Hexagrid Pet Fence Kits
Best barrier pet fence kits
Our metal hexagrid kits make about the best dog fences anywhere. Strong, effective, and permanent, they perform well, look well, and blend into the landscape beautifully. The metal hexagrid fencing that is their prime ingredient consists of 1-inch hexagons of 20-gauge galvanized steel wire given a black pvc coating that adds to the fence’s life and reduces its visibility. In addition, all of these pet fences come with round black steel posts and top support wires that give them a finished, professional look.
This is the perfect fence to end escapes. It’s less visible, longer lasting, and a great deal stronger than any poly pet fence barrier. Plus its small mesh prevents climbing. It’s invulnerable to all but the strongest and most determined chewers. And it’s plenty strong enough to take repeated blows to its mid-section. Should digging be an issue, the fence can be supplemented with a digging barrier that ends the problem. Our handsome metal hex dog fencing has an expected life of over two decades.
Welded wire Dog Fence Kits
Our strongest kits, these will resist chewing and pawing even better than our metal hexagrid kits. Made with 14-gauge steel wire fencing that is galvanized and coated with black pvc, they create low-key, attractive fences. Equipped with top support (either a top support wire or a top rail) all of these fences have a firm, well-finished, professional look. As a bonus, the ones with top rails will typically meet local code requirements for swimming pool fences.
The mesh openings are small for welded wire fences, but even so these rectangular openings do provide some purchase for a dog’s hind paws. Hence, if your dog avidly tries to clamber over fences, consider getting a metal hexagrid dog fence instead. Should digging prove an issue, all of our fences can be supplemented with a digging barrier that ends the problem. This welded wire fencing has an expected life of over 20 years.
Our nearly invisible polypropylene dog fencing, with a tested breaking strength of 650 pounds per foot, holds up well under most conditions. However, dogs can chew through it and dig under it. Also, any rabbits or woodchucks seeking to get in can chew holes through which your dog can leave. So if your dog is inclined to chew, or rodents seem likely to gnaw holes, consider getting one of our metal hexagrid or welded wire dog fence kits–which will be more expensive but also better suited to your needs.
Our polypropylene dog fence kits come in heights of 4 and 5 feet and lengths of 100, 200, and 330 feet. To make a longer dog fence, two or more kits can be combined. Please note that gates, digging barriers, and braces (the latter mostly useful for tall fences in heavy snow zones) are not included and instead are listed separately.
