Corner Braces, End/Gate Braces, Drive Cap, and Earth Anchors
We considered including corner/end braces in our taller dog fence kits, but we found that in most cases they would simply not be needed. However, we list them here for those who want help dealing with heavily treed fence lines or snow load issues. Each corner brace kit listed below provides the braces for two corners. Each end brace kit provides 2 end braces, the number needed to brace both sides of a gate or 2 ends ("ends" being places where the fence terminates because it butts up against a building, wall, or other fence).
These brace kits come with drive sleeves for the vertical posts. Those who purchase these braces, and who opt against putting the vertical post in a cement footing, may wish to save some digging time by getting the drive cap used to drive these sleeves in with a sledgehammer. For a complete list of the parts in each product, click on the product's photo.
If the fence line runs straight for 60 feet or more without being interrupted by a gate, use earth anchors instead of brace posts, as described in Fence Options, using two earth anchors per corner, two per gate, and one per end. Attach the earth anchor to the top of the post being used as an anchor post with the heavy steel wire below, figuring that one 100-foot roll of wire will serve to attach at least 12 earth anchors.
