Accessories for a Radio Fence with Ground Wire
Products 20-06 thru 20-11 below are compatible with most radio fences that use boundary wires and with all three of the wired radio fences offered here. These items, together with the receiving collars 20-01A, 20-02A, and 20-03A, greatly increase your system’s versatility. Two-dog and multi-dog households can include all their dogs by simply adding more receiving collars (products 20-01A, 20-02A, or 20-03A). You can also get more wire and flags (product 20-06) so as to expand your system’s enclosure from about a third of an acre up to a maximum of 5 acres (in the case of products 20-01 and 20-02) or to a maximum of 25 acres (in the case of product 20-03).
You can also get more lightning protection. A lightning surge needs to be stopped before it reaches whatever you are seeking to protect. Product 20-03 (the Ultrasmart Contain and Train Fence) comes with an external lightning module that protects both the transmitter and your home from lightning surges picked up by the boundary fence wire. However, the lightning protection built into products 20-01 and 20-02 will protect your home but not the transmitter itself. If you get product 20-10 you can protect the transmitter.
It’s also worth noting that instead of burying “underground” wire, you can staple it to the ground with product 20-08 (use one staple about every 5 feet) and let the grass grow over it. You can also locate any break in the wire with product 20-09, and you can repair that break with a direct burial splice (product 20-11).
Finally, the versatile receiving collar of the Ultrasmart Contain and Train Fence (product 20-03) can receive the signals of Innotek’s Zones indoor transmitter (product 20-12A). So by purchasing one or more of these indoor transmitters, which have an adjustable reach of anywhere from 1 foot to 12 feet, you can extend the reach of this smart fence indoors to keep Rover away from a chosen rug, sofa, trash can, etc.
