Electric Fence Testers (Voltage Readers)
An electric fence voltage reader (not an ordinary volt-meter, which won’t work) is an essential tool for anyone who wants to install and maintain an electric fence, because it can be used to tell whether the fence is working.
To shock most dogs requires only about 0.7 kilovolts, so for most purposes the simplest electric fence voltage reader (product 04-01) will do the job. If you have a more powerful charger suitable for large and stubborn dogs, you may wish to get a slightly better tester (product 04-02) that can tell how much voltage (up to 5 kilovolts) is on the line, or you may opt for a digital voltage reader (product 04-05) that can give a more accurate reading up to 10 kilovolts.
